Research Interests

My research is focused on the assessment, etiology, and treatment of unipolar depression with a specific focus on men’s mental health.  I am particularly interested in how gender and cultural norms influence the expression and treatment of major depression. My current projects include the development of a men’s depression treatment, an evaluation of treatment barriers in returning military personnel, and the examination of the relationship between masculine norm adherence, cognitive flexibility and depression symptoms.
