Research Interests

My primary line of research aims to identify basic attention and executive control deficits associated with dimensions of anxiety and depression. In particular, I am interested in deficits associated with the tendency to worry (e.g., anxious apprehension or “cognitive anxiety”). Further, I am beginning to explore how attention and executive deficits impact information processing, perceptions, and emotion regulation, factors that may cause these deficits to develop (e.g., genes), and possible ways to remediate them (e.g., cognitive training, mindfulness meditation).
