Research Interests

Monica received her B.A. in Psychology from Providence College in 2013. As an undergraduate, Monica interned at The Miriam Hospital on a smoking cessation study. She also worked as a research assistant at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island on a study to better diagnose and treat COPD. Monica conducted an independent research project her senior year entitled “The Effects of Emotion and Message Framing on College Binge Drinking”. She received an undergraduate research grant to fund this study and presented her findings at Providence College's Fourth Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship and Creativity as well as at the 2013 New England Psychological Association Conference.

In the future, Monica hopes to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Monica joined the Psychosocial Research Department in May 2013.
